Phoenix Math School

Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Phoenix mobile app for iPhone and Android, used by students and parents of Phoenix Math School.

Effective 14 September 2026 Applies to app version 1.1

01Who this is about

Phoenix Math School operates this app and is responsible for the information in it. The app is a private portal for people who already study or have a child studying at the school — it is not a public service and has no sign-up.

Accounts are issued by the school. You cannot create one yourself. Your ID number and first password are given to you by the school administration, and the app simply signs you in to records the school already holds.

02What the app collects

Only what is needed to show you your own school records, to let you talk to your school in its chat, and to keep the account secure.

InformationWhy
Your ID number and passwordTo sign you in. The password is checked by the school server and is never stored on the phone.
Your name, group and courseShown in the app so you can see whose record you are reading.
Your phone numberSo the school can reach your family. It is kept on the family's record at the school and seen by the school, never by other families or in the chat. You can change it in Profile, and the change is noted on the student's record.
Attendance, lesson history, exam results and progressThe purpose of the app. These records are created by the school, not by you or the app.
Payments and balanceSo a family can see what is due and what has been paid.
Lesson bookingsTo make and show bookings.
A profile photo, if you choose to add oneShown on your own profile. Entirely optional, and you can remove it at any time.
Chat messages you send — text, photos, videos, voice messages and filesDelivered to the members of that chat and kept on the school server so the conversation can be read later. Chats are only with people the school already links to you — school staff and, for students, their classmates — never with strangers.
Reports you make about a message or a personSent only to the school administration so it can act on them. The person reported is not told who reported them.
A device sign-in tokenKeeps you signed in without retyping your password, and lets the school end a session on a lost phone.
A notification token for chat messagesLets the school server tell your phone that a new chat message has arrived. It is removed from the server when you sign out.

For a parent account, the same applies to the records of the children linked to that account by the school.

03What the app does not do

The app contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party software development kits that collect data. Nothing you do in it is measured for marketing, profiling or any purpose other than showing you your records and your school chat.

04Camera, photos, microphone and Face ID

Camera and photo library

The app asks for the camera or your photo library only when you choose to use them: to set a profile picture, or to take or pick a photo or video to send in a chat. For a profile picture you crop the image on the phone and only the cropped result is sent to the school server; if you delete the photo in the app it is removed from the server too. A photo or video you send in a chat goes to the school server and to the members of that chat. The app saves a photo or video from a chat to your library only when you choose to save it. Decline the permission and everything else in the app still works.

Microphone

The microphone is used only while you are recording a voice message, or the sound of a video you record, to send in a chat. Nothing is recorded at any other time. Decline the permission and the rest of the chat still works.

Face ID, Touch ID and fingerprint

You can use your device biometrics to reopen the app more quickly. This check happens entirely on your phone. The app never receives your face or fingerprint data, and neither does the school — the phone only reports whether the check passed. Biometrics unlock the screen; they are never treated as permission to reach school records on their own.

05Children's information

Phoenix Math School teaches children, so most records in this app belong to a minor. The school is the custodian of those records, and the app is only a way of reading them. Access is limited to the student and to the parent or guardian the school has linked to that student.

The app shows no advertising and makes no in-app purchases. It has a school chat, but no chat with strangers: chats are opened by the school and are only between people it already links — for students, their class, its teachers and the school administration; for parents, school staff only: the school administration and, where the school allows it, their children's teachers. Messages posted in a chat are seen by the members of that chat.

Every member agrees to the chat rules before using the chat. Messages containing offensive words are stopped before they are sent. Any message or person can be reported to the school administration, which can delete messages and restrict members, and a student can restrict a classmate. A student sees only their own record; a parent sees only their own children.

06Where the information goes

The app talks to one server, run by the school, at intranet.phoenix-math.uz. All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Records are not copied to any other company or service. The only exception is chat notifications, which reach your phone through Apple or Google as described above.

On your phone, the sign-in token is kept in the operating system's secure storage — the Keychain on iOS, the Keystore on Android — and everything else, including chat photos and files you have opened, is a temporary copy that is cleared when you sign out.

07Sessions and your devices

An account may be signed in on one device at a time. Signing in somewhere new ends the previous session, and the older device is told why. This is deliberate: it keeps a family's records from staying open on a phone that has been sold, lost or handed on.

You can review your active session in the app and sign out at any time. Signing out deletes the token from the phone and ends the session on the server.

08How long records are kept

School records — attendance, results, payments — are kept for as long as the school needs them for its own educational and accounting obligations, which continues after a student leaves. That retention is the school's, not the app's; the app only displays them.

Things belonging specifically to the app are shorter-lived: a sign-in token ends when you sign out or sign in elsewhere, and a profile photo is deleted as soon as you remove it.

Chat messages stay in their chat for as long as the school keeps that chat. A message you delete is no longer shown in the chat and is erased from the server, together with its files, after a period set by the school (90 days unless it chooses otherwise).

09Your rights

You may ask the school to show you what it holds about you or your child, to correct anything wrong, or to delete your profile photo. Requests about the school record itself — grades, attendance, payments — are handled by the school administration under its own record-keeping rules.

Deleting the app does not delete your school record. To close an account entirely, contact the school, or use Profile → Request account deletion in the app, which sends your request to the school administration.
